Spectrum Digital Education Grant Fuels Islandwide Expansion

2 min read

We have some exciting news to share — Tech Savvy Teens has been selected as a recipient of the Spectrum Digital Education Grant, and we are beyond grateful.

This $20,000 investment from Spectrum will allow us to do something we've been working toward since day one: bring our programs to every corner of O'ahu. From the Wai'anae Coast to the Windward Side, Central O'ahu to Hawai'i Kai, more Kūpuna will have access to tech workshops and one-on-one support — delivered by the talented young people in their own communities.

For us, this grant is bigger than funding. It's validation that the model works — that teens and Kūpuna coming together across generations can close the digital divide in a way that feels local, personal, and rooted in aloha.

"This support from Spectrum means we can stop thinking small. Our Lead Teen Mentors are ready, our communities need this, and now we have the resources to show up for all of them. This isn't just about teaching technology — it's about building trust between generations and investing in Hawaiʻi's future."— Jaffer, Founder, Tech Savvy Teens

We were honored to be celebrated at the Spectrum Digital Papahana on February 11 alongside other organizations committed to digital education across our state. Mahalo to Pam and the entire Spectrum team for believing in our mission and in the young leaders making it happen. The work continues — and now, it goes islandwide. 🤙
