We are excited to share another exciting milestone for Tech Savvy Teens as the program officially begins its journey on Molokaʻi!
Earlier this month, 18 Molokaʻi teens participated in our first Tech Savvy Teens training workshop, where they learned what it means to become youth technology mentors serving their kūpuna and community. The enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to give back demonstrated by these young leaders was inspiring and confirms that Molokaʻi is ready to grow the next generation of digital mentors.
The momentum continues as we prepare for our first kūpuna one-on-one technology support event on Friday, July 31, in partnership with Molokaʻi Rural Health Community Association (MRHCA). This event marks the beginning of regular opportunities for local teens to put their training into practice by helping kūpuna build confidence using smartphones, tablets, computers, online services, and other everyday technology.
Tech Savvy Teens is more than a volunteer program—it's a workforce development initiative that connects generations while providing youth with real-world leadership experience, technology skills, and industry-recognized certification opportunities.
We extend our sincere mahalo to Molokaʻi Rural Health Community Association (MRHCA), Imua Onipaʻa, and everyone who helped make this launch possible. Building a sustainable, youth-led program takes strong community partnerships, and we're grateful for the support we've received.
This is just the beginning. As more teens complete their training and additional kūpuna events are scheduled across Molokaʻi, we're excited to continue growing a program that strengthens digital confidence, creates meaningful connections across generations, and empowers local youth to serve their community.
We can't wait to see our Molokaʻi Tech Savvy Teens in action on July 31!
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue expanding Tech Savvy Teens across Hawaiʻi.
