We are honored to announce that Tech Savvy Teens, a youth-led program of Kaulike Academy, has been selected to receive a Fiscal Year 2027 Grants in Aid (GIA) conditional award of $123,415 from the City & County of Honolulu Department of Community Services.

This investment is more than funding—it is a vote of confidence in Hawaiʻi's youth and the power of service learning.

Since its beginning, Tech Savvy Teens has empowered young people to use their technology skills to make a meaningful difference in their communities. Our teen mentors provide free technology support to kūpuna, helping them stay connected with family, access healthcare, navigate online services, and build confidence using today's digital tools. In return, our youth gain leadership experience, workforce skills, industry certifications, and a stronger sense of purpose.

Through Kaulike Academy's hands-on learning model, students don't just learn technology—they apply it by serving others. This grant will allow us to expand these opportunities and reach even more communities across Oʻahu while continuing to develop the next generation of digital leaders.

We extend our heartfelt mahalo to the City & County of Honolulu Department of Community Services, the Grants in Aid Advisory Commission, Mayor Rick Blangiardi, and everyone involved in supporting this program. Your investment helps create opportunities for young people to lead, serve, and prepare for future careers while addressing the digital divide in our communities.

Most importantly, thank you to our incredible teens, families, volunteers, community partners, and kūpuna who inspire this work every day. Your dedication and belief in the mission are what make Tech Savvy Teens successful.

We look forward to another year of connecting generations through technology and proving that when young people are trusted with meaningful responsibility, they create lasting impact.

Mahalo for believing in Hawaiʻi's youth. The best is yet to come.
